About Me

Dr. McGee is currently a primary care physician practicing in Louisville, KY. She also serves as a Primary Care Provider Medical Director for a local diabetes institute where she oversees providers to standardize care and treatment for patients with diabetes. Civically, Dr. McGee is the President of the Falls City Medical Society, the Louisville chapter of the National Medical Association where she supports the mission to uplift and advance black physicians.

Dr. McGee specializes in Obesity Medicine, with a strong emphasis on lifestyle modification as a foundation for long-term health. She is currently completing her certification with the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. McGee integrates evidence-based lifestyle strategies into modern medical practice, encouraging patients not to rely solely on medications but to pursue holistic health through proper nutrition, regular physical activity, and self-care. As a passionate advocate for healthy living, she empowers individuals to make sustainable changes that support both physical and emotional well-being.

Dr. McGee has developed a strong interest in exploring social determinants of health (SDOH) that are disproportionately affecting minority communities. During residency, she assisted with the implementation of the SDOH program at Northwestern’s Grayslake clinic. She presented findings of a research project on this topic at the 2023 Annual STFM Conference. While at the conference she also presented on vaccine hesitancy in African Americans with her colleagues. 

Dr. McGee also has a strong passion for mentorship and academic medicine leading her to complete the Northwestern Medical Education Clinical Scholars Program. She also completed the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine in Residency Curriculum.

She obtained her bachelor’s of science (BS) degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana and went on to obtain her master’s degree in public health (MPH) from Tulane University before earning her doctor of medicine (MD) degree from Chicago Medical School. 

In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, traveling, socializing with friends and family, and listening to live music.
